The Port Lincoln Racing Club is one of South Australia’s premiere scenic delights. Situated at Ravendale Racecourse, the Boston Bay icon offers the most authentic Eyre Peninsula experience, complete with views of the pristine ocean that the state’s fishing frontier is renowned for. The MGA Insurance Brokers 2019 Port Lincoln Cup saw guests sampling the finest local fare across the Cup’s marquees and, of course, the PIMMS Bar proved ever-popular.
The sizzling 41-degree forecast was no match for Port Lincoln’s racing fashion fiends. Racegoers procured a stunning array of statement headpieces for the occasion, from two-tone straw boaters and perched pieces in woodland green, to neon leopard print creations.
The dresses of the day were a flurry of colour, with a strong focus on texture and ultra-feminine sleeve detail to see in the new season. Bold accessories were exhibited across earrings, clutches and footwear, with many attendants opting for bright, festive shades.
Our FATR Port Lincoln Cup Winner was Tamra in a ruched floral midi dress with sleeve volume and a flared skirt, which she paired with a bright pink top-handle purse and matching floral fascinator. Tamra highlighted the citrine base of her dress with lemon-hued heels and completed her ensemble with white lace gloves and pearl earrings, exuding modern elegance.
