2015-16 Winner Justine Heads to Asia

Who can forget the winner of the 2015-16 Fashion at The Races competition Justine Lundberg, who qualified at the 2015 Melbourne Cup Day event and again impressed judges at the state final with her beautiful Carla Zampatti look. We're well into the 2016-17 competition now, but Justine has just enjoyed her incredible major prize of a luxury trip to Asia, including a visit to the Longines Hong Kong International Races at Sha Tin Racetrack.

A visit to one of the world's most glamarous race tracks calls for a special outfit, and we weren't surprised to hear that Justine was awarded the Longines Prize for Elegance with her classic race day look. We spoke to Justine about her trip and her winning outfit!

Tell us about your trip! All of your Instagram pictures look incredible! How was the business class experience?

Business class was amazing! It was a brilliant experience, certainly made the 10 ½ hr flight from Sydney to Shanghai very easy!

What are some of the highlights of your trip?

Shanghai was great to experience – the tour we went on with our own tour guide was fabulous. We saw the Yu Gardens, Confucius Temple, ate so many soup dumplings and had a traditional tea ceremony! Macau was also mind blowing with 55 casino’s that turn over 8 times more than Las Vagas, however, without a doubt, the highlight of the trip was attending The Longines Hong Kong International Races at Sha Tin Racetrack.

We were so proud to see you win the Longines Prize for Elegance. Tell us about the day!

Thankyou! It was the experience of a lifetime for sure! My husband, Ben and I had our own corporate box – the food was phenomenal; the horse racing was brilliant and the 40 other people we got to experience the box with were so much fun!

Ben and I had gone down to the members enclosure – which was at least a 10 minute walk from the box – seriously the track is massive – I recognised the blue Longines Horse, we went over to read the sign (on how to register) and I was asked to have my photo taken. The Longines Rep told me that if you were successful to make the Top 3 you would receive a phone call and asked to go down to the Longines official photo area.

We couldn’t believe it when the call came through that I had made Top 3! They announced the winner in front of 100,000 spectators at the winning post and I was presented with the most divine Longines Ladies watch by the Longines President and Vice President together with a bottle of French bubbles and the biggest bunch of flowers I have ever seen. I honestly couldn’t believe it, needless to say, the rest of the day was a huge celebration with loads of calls back home with the good news!

Who is the winning outfit by?

I wore a dress by Alex Perry, Mimico Brooch & Earrings, Louis Vuitton clutch and my divine piece of millinery was by Perth designer, Debbie Kelly (DK Millinery).
