In case you missed it, in the space of a week we have concluded the 2016/17 Fashion at The Races competition - crowning Abby Von Duve as the Winner - and kicked off the new season at the 2017 Balaklava Cup.
With already the competition's first State Finalist locked in - Marie Jeffries, winning the Balaklava Cup qualifying event - it's time to announce the details of this year's competition.
Fashion at The Races 2017/18 gets bigger and better, with bigger prizes, new sponsors, and some talented new ambassadors.
Of course, everyone wants to know what you'll be winning at each qualifying event and the State Final (apart from the glory of being the most stylish lady or gent). At each qualifying event once again the winner will receive a cash prize, in addition to a $200 voucher to spend with new sponsor The Daily Edited.
The Runner-Up will receive a $200 voucher to spend at the Media Makeup store, either on product or on beauty services for your next special event.The Best Millinery of the day will win $200 worth of Evo Hair products, which we all know are some of the best in the business.
Once again the Menswear competition returns to search for SA's best dressed gentlemen, with the qualifying event winner receiving a $200 voucher to spend at M.J. Bale.
When it comes time for the State Final in September 2018, the prizes for the Winners are bigger and better. The Winner of Fashion at The Races 2017/18 will receive a huge $5,000 to spend at BNKR, which is sure to give you a whole new wardrobe. Shopping from BNKR labels Finders Keepers, C/MEO Collective, Keepsake the Label, The Fifth Label and Jaggar Footwear, shop up a storm at South Australia's best fashion house.
The winner will also receive an incredible prize thanks to new sponsor, the South Australian Tourism Commission. There are so many amazing events here in this great state, and you'll get the VIP treatment at a choice of either the Adelaide Fashion Festival for the fashion lovers, or Tasting Australia for the foodies out there. You'll receive VIP tickets for you and 3 friends to an event at your choice at either of those great festivals.
The Runner-Up of the competition will again receive the $1,000 Evo Prize Pack, including Evo Hair and Cloud Nine products. In addition, they will receive a $1,000 voucher to spend at The Daily Edited on a complete set of monogrammed leather goods. Stock up on phone cases, wallets, bags, pouches, and even deks accessories, all in your favourite colours and finished off with your name, initials, or even your favourite emoji!
The People's Choice returns for the 17/18 competition, where you can vote for your favourite State Finalist throughout the year to win a $1,000 Media Makeup Prize Pack, including Makeup Forever products, services and lessons at the Media Makeup store in James Place, Adelaide.
Finally, the Best Dressed Menswear Winner of the State Final will receive an incredible $2,000 voucher to spend at M.J. Bale on a new wardrobe of suits, shirts, accessories and more. The Menswear Winner will also receive a $500 Voucher to spend on their own personalized leather goodies at The Daily Edited, who have a whole range of accessories for the gentlemen.
For those putting their diary dates in now, the qualifying events schedule is very similar to 2016/17. You can view the full list on the About page, as well as more information about each event on the Thoroughbred Racing South Australia website.
The two changes to note is first the Penola Race Club qualifying event, which has moved from Coonawarra Vigneron's Day to the Penola Cup, and the Mount Gambier Cup, which has moved from May 2018 to December 2017 due to track upgrades.
Fashion at The Races is excited to have a range of talented presenters from Channel 7 Adelaide on board as ambassadors for the competition. You'll spot them throughout the year at events hosting the Fashion at The Races competitions, with details to be announced prior to each event.
Joining previous ambassador, Channel 7 Weather Presenter Amelia Mulcahy, we welcome Channel 7 Presenters Andrea Nicolas, Gertie Spurling and Nicki Barnett as Ambassadors.
For the first time we are excited to have on board Ambassadors for the Menswear competition, with Channel 7 Sports Presenter Theo Doropoulos and SA Weekender's Andrew Hayes (pictured below). Both gentlemen are suitably qualified to join the ambassadors in taking our competition around the state.
