The 2017/18 Fashion at The Races has kicked off, with a couple of qualifying events down already. The 2017 Mindarie-Halidon Cup saw hundreds of spectators from the Riverland area out for a perfect September day trackside.
The Fashions on the Field saw lots of colourful entrants strutting their stuff for a chance to win, but the competition was taken out by Morgan Pfitzner in a vintage look that her mother in fact wore to the Melbourne Cup 25 years ago! Check out our interview below with Morgan.
For work I: am a personal assistant and personal training student
To win Fashions on the Field I wore: Vintage Capitol Pants and Jacket, Vintage Kasmo Design Hat and Billini shoes.
I started coming to The Races when: I'm a first timer!
And I couldn’t do a day trackside without: great company.
The last time I entered Fashions on the Field: This was my first time and I absolutely loved it!
My wardrobe looks like: colourful, fun and my favourite brands CK, C&M, Country Road, Seed, Aje and Lorna Jane.
The most embarrassing thing I’ve ever worn is: a terrible ant costume at a Dance Eisteddford many years ago, head to tow in a dark purple leotard.
But my favourite thing I own is: my navy leather jacket I purchased in Florence.
What people might not know about me: I am a surprisingly great cook.
Weekends look like: house work, cooking, dinner parties and time on the river with a glass of bubbles in hand.
I love to indulge in: dark Choccie! I am very partrial to a scoop or 10 of Connoisseur Cookies and Cream Ice cream....
My kind of day out is: sunshine, great company, music and great food.
On my bucket list I want to: complete a marathon and visit Tiffany and Co in NYC on my 21st birthday, to buy my favourite ring.
I wish I could have a glass of bubbles with: Beyonce!
This year I am looking forward to: learning more and more through my PT study and my next holiday to Byron Bay with my gorgeous partner.
I love The Races because: I am able to carry on the tradition of my Great Grandmother, a dressmaker, who loved designing and creating her own outfits for Fashion on the Field, and also outfits for many others.
Morgan is now a State Finalist for the 17/18 Fashion at The Races Competition, and you can vote for her to win the People's Choice for the next week.
