Street style looks from Strathalbyn Cup

As one of South Australia’s most picturesque provincial racing clubs, Strathalbyn Cup provided the perfect backdrop for some of the states most fashionable racegoers to put their best foot forward. Sunny skies and a warm summer’s day delivered an ambience befitting of nothing less than textured lace numbers, intricate embroidery and floral’s that would leave Miranda Priestly herself taking a second look.

Going back to more traditional racing roots, the Strathalbyn Cup style set steered clear of daring cuts and combinations to deliver modest hemlines and traditional cuts, bringing all the glitz and glam through the use of colour and texture. Equally intricate millinery pieces complemented each look, with summer hats taking centre stage at this years meet.

The winner of Fashion At The Races presented a fresh take on traditional race wear with a striking baby blue Couture Love Madness design by South Australia’s own designer Cristina Tridente. Taking out the coveted award, Rebecca Butcher paired her billowy baby blue design with neutral accessories and a headpiece with just the right amount of personality.
