5 minutes with the winner - Kangaroo Island Cup

In one of South Australia's most iconic and world famous locations, it only makes sense that the style would be second to none. Each year the Fashion At The Races at the Kangaroo Island Cup creates a tough decision for the judges, this year especially so. With a number of standout looks, Brooke Seward was the pinnacle of style at the annual Carnival.

Donning an on-trend tassel look, complemented by a beautiful architecural headpiece, Brooke's sophisticated yet modern outfit impressed, making her the winner of the competition.

We found out more about Brooke, who turns out to be quite a lover of Thoroughbreds, and a fan of racing's first lady Gai Waterhouse!

To win Fashion at The Races I wore: An Eliya the Label dress, custom made headpiece by Simply by Lou Lou, Windsor Smith shoes, an Olga Berg clutch and Lovisa accessories.

I started coming to The Races when: I was a young girl... I have always had a passion for horses so I took every opportunity I had to get to the track and head out to the stalls to see the horses.

I couldn’t do a day trackside without: Friends, champagne, sunglasses and the form guide.

The last time I entered Fashions at The Races: Was at the Adelaide Cup in 2012. I decided that morning to enter and made it to the top 10.

My wardrobe looks like: Very organised; my clothes are colour coordinated and my shoes are stored in their boxes with a picture of each on the front  to make them easy to identify. Yes I’m a neat freak!

The most embarrassing thing I’ve ever worn is: A really bad perm, once tried never repeated!

My favourite thing I own is: My beautiful engagement ring designed and made by Pike Jewellers.

What people might not know about me: I am a country girl at heart, if I am not in the office then you will find me in my farm gear on our property in the Adelaide Hills.

Weekends look like: Time spent with my 4 year old son and partner, and riding my riding pony x thoroughbred Tommy.

I love to indulge in: Shoes! I am hopeless when it comes to purchasing shoes - I cannot resist.

My kind of day out is: Spent with our beautiful friends enjoying a good wine or two at some of the incredible locations and events we are fortunate enough to be able frequent in South Australia.

My bucket list includes: Hiking the Inca Trail

I wish I could have a glass of bubbles with: Gai Waterhouse, I have always admired her spunk and knowledge of horses.

This year I am looking forward to: Creating more fabulous memories with my family and friends.

I love The Races because: Of the colour, the excitement, the wonderful effort so many people put into their race day outfits and of course the beauty and power of the horses.

Brooke is the 13th qualifying state finalist for Fashion at The Races 2017/18, marking the halfway point of the competition! To be sure you have a chance to win, make sure to dress your best at one of the next qualifying events. To see the full list of qualifying events click here
