Glow Getter: Highlight your highpoints for a day in the sunshine

Shaping our faces has come full-circle. The days of rouge passed with hot rollers, then we succumbed to the insta-beauty phenomena of contouring, onto non-touring and (thanks to the help of a certain reality star-cum-beauty-mogul) we are back to painting on our bone structure with creamy crayons in-hand. But as beauty trends come and pass, cheekbones have never gone out of style. Racing carnivals are known to recognise the classics, so your cup day clippings will remain timeless with this beauty look.

The best way to give your face a natural sense of structure is to enhance the peaks in your facial topography. The ultimate duo of illumination and the abundant natural light at the racecourse accentuates your best features for a soft and becoming base. This technique works wonders with boater hats, as a little light goes a long way once your cheekbones are glimmering.

MAKE UP FOREVER’s ultra-blendable powders ensure your brushwork is effortless during the process, so you can focus on framing your face with the deepest colour in your palette, adding warmth with a hint of pink and hitting your highpoints with a touch of sparkle. Finish with a sweep of peachy nude lipstick for your pout and be your most radiant self at your next racing carnival.

Watch Sophie from Media Makeup recreate the look below and follow the steps...

Step 1: Place highlighter anywhere that the light would naturally hit. Sunlight will make the glow even more intense so don’t use too much.

Step 2: Using a fan brush blend highlighter (artist face colour H102 or for more tan skin tones H106) onto the tops of the cheekbones, onto the brow bone just under the eyebrow, onto the Cupid’s bow to make lips look fuller, down the bridge of the nose, and into the inner corner of the eye.
