FASHION LOOKS FROM THE NARACOORTE CUP

The MiniJumbuk Naracoorte Cup drew in crowds of locals and visitors to celebrate both the biggest day at the Naracoorte Racing Club and the finale of the Taste the Limestone Coast Festival. Just an hour inland from the Coast’s charming beachside towns, Naracoorte boasts a historic livestock and farming industry, picturesque lagoons and of course, the World Heritage-listed caves. However, the scenic allure does not stop there; the region is known for attracting some of the nation’s fiercest racing fashion competitors.

Sunday, February 10 saw a move toward statement millinery, with bold feather accents, bright perched pieces, opulent crowns, oversized bows and contemporary boaters studding the track. Fascinators were in full bloom with faux flowers, and striking jewellery was paired with alluring accessories. Slimline and full tea-length skirts were flaunted in bright colours and mesmerising patterns, while some racegoers aced the clash of acidic tones softened by verdant hues.

The competition was judged by special guest 2017-2018 FATR State Final Winner Leah Habel, who assisted in crowning Brooke Walter as Best Dressed Woman. Brooke’s sophisticated coral midi dress was contrasted by the addition of teal frill details and matched with a coral straw boater with floral accents.
