FASHION AT THE RACES SEASON FINAL AND 2019-20 LAUNCH

What a beautiful afternoon it was celebrating our 2018-19 Fashion At The Races season finalists and welcoming the new 2019-20 FATR season. Some of Adelaide’s key media personalities and fashion influencers joined us to celebrate all things fashion and racing over an elegantly set luncheon at Stones Throw. A special shout out to Alyce Tran from The Daily Edited who provided all our guests with a personalised gift – and to Morphettville Racecourse for providing everyone with a Race Day pass to Melbourne Cup on Tuesday, November 5 at Morphettville. The event was hosted by Chris Kontos (Local Style Icon) and Miles Pfitzner (The Races Edit Radio Host). Together they welcomed our finalists, congratulated our well-deserved winners and welcomed new season sponsors.

Our 2018-19 winners are:

  • Peoples’ Choice Award: Jaimee Bruggeman- Roxby Downs Cup
  • Menswear Winner: Jack Reynolds- SA Derby Day
  • Womenswear Runnerup: Melissa Barnes- Balaklava Cup
  • Womenswear Winner: Alex Hecker- Kangaroo Island Cup

Thank you to  Adelaide Flower House for bringing our space to life with their stunning fresh floral arrangements – which smelt as good as they looked. And to Festival Hire for providing our table settings.

The event was also a chance to welcome our 2019-20 sponsors. We are excited to announce the following brands who are providing us with our overall People’s Choice Award prizing:

-        Thoroughbred Racing SA

-        The Daily Edited

-        BNKR

-        Evo Hair & Cloud Nine

-        Rossi Boots

We were also excited to annouce our Fashion At The Races Ambassador Lauren Dilena will continue on as our go to fashion stylist for all things racing in South Australia, providing us with her race day styling trends and tips.

To finish off the afternoon we spoke with some influential women in racing including, Raquel Clark who is the state’s leading jockey, trainer Chantelle Jolly who has grown up in the racing industry and now trains in partnership with her father Richard Jolly, and Zoe Burdett who has owned a number of horses over the years. It was great to chat about the different areas the racing industry has to offer.

For the 2019/20 season, the power will rest with the people as the top prize will now be the Fashion At The Races People’s Choice State Final Award. The overall winner will be decided from these finalists by public votes (open for seven days) on the Fashions At The Races digital voting platform, and will take home a huge $2,000 cash, $5000 BNKR voucher, $1000 The Daily Edited Voucher, $1,000 Evo Hair and Cloud Nine prize pack and $1,000 Rossi Boots Voucher. All Fashions on the Field event dates coming soon!

We cannot wait to see all your race day looks this season. We hope to see you trackside soon!
