FATR State Final voting to open on July 21

Since 2012, the statewide search has given racegoers their moment in the style spotlight, from Kangaroo Island to Clare and everywhere in between. However due to COVID-19 restrictions, Thoroughbred Racing South Australia’s (TRSA) popular Fashion At The Races (FATR) season has closed early, while public voting to decide the winner will be held this month.

The remaining FATR events have been cancelled and voting for the  People’s Choice State Final Award has been brought forward to start on Tuesday, July 21 and will remain open for seven days, closing Monday, July 27.

Now in its eighth year, FATR underwent a major change for the 2019/20 season, with the power now resting with people to decide this year’s State Final winner.

The overall winner will be decided from the finalists by public votes on the FATR digital voting platform. The overall winner will take home a huge $2000 cash, $5000 BNKR voucher, $1000 The Daily Edited voucher and $1000 Evo Hair prize pack.

“The pandemic has obviously impacted significantly on the Fashion At The Races initiative this year,” said TRSA industry marketing manager Michelle Greene.

“We couldn’t have people at many of those major race days, which means the Fashions At The Races events couldn’t go ahead on those days either.

“However, early response to our major change – making it a people’s choice competition – was very positive, so we encourage people to go online and vote on the entries that we did manage to get before the coronavirus restrictions were put in place. There is also a $500 TDE voucher up for grabs for our voters. All you need to do is to vote for your favourite look!”

“Thank you again to our sponsors for providing this year’s prizes too. It’s a wonderful line-up.”
